Doing business in New York is definitely not for the faint of heart. Although New York business is one of the most potentially lucrative opportunities imaginable, it can also be one of the most disastrous. I have a friend who is a New York businessman, and he has told me that most New York businesses go under within the first six months! If you want to do business New York, You have to be willing to take risks and able to pick yourself up again and start all over if it doesn't work. Unless you can fly by the seat of your pants, you should take your business elsewhere.
New York business registration is easy, but actually getting going is a little bit more difficult. Most New York businesses, you see, have to rent their properties. This is one of the biggest sources of overhead for businesses in general, but in New York, it can be disastrous. New York real estate is at a prime, and even renting a suitable location can break you within the first couple of months. This is why So many people who are going into New York city business decide to peddle their wares on the street. Although it may not seem like much of a life, some of the street vendors actually do very good business. With tens of thousands of tourists walking by every day, all you need is a few hits to make ends meet. After that, it is all profits!
The best thing about New York business is that it can be pretty easy to find a starting financial backer. After all, there are lots of people with money in New York, and many of them are gambling men. If you can offer what looks like a sound business proposition to them, they will pick it up in a flash. This means that the financial responsibility for your New York business will not rest solely on your shoulders, and that you will have the capital that you need to get going.
Even if your New York business does not take off right away, don't give up. I have been involved in New York business for years, so I know how tough it can be. It took me four separate attempts, both within the city and outside of it, to get my business to make a profit. Although sometimes I thought about giving up, I stuck with it. You should too!
